The Sentry Elevated to the PGA TOUR Championship Series in 2028
Sentry Insurance, the PGA TOUR and the Century Club of San Diego have announced that The Sentry, the annual PGA TOUR event played at Torrey Pines Golf Course, will be part of the PGA TOUR Championship Series beginning in 2028, as the PGA TOUR enters an exciting era with a new competitive model.
The complete 2028 PGA TOUR Championship Series schedule, including tournament dates, venues and event names, will be announced at a later date.
The Sentry Will Compete at Torrey Pines in 2027
The PGA TOUR, Sentry Insurance, and the Century Club of San Diego have announced that the PGA TOUR’s longstanding event at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego will be renamed The Sentry.
Set to return to iconic Torrey Pines for the 60th time, The Sentry will be played Wednesday, January 27, through Saturday, January 30, 2027.
First played in 1952 as the San Diego Open and contested annually at Torrey Pines since 1968, The Sentry is proudly hosted by the Century Club of San Diego, a member-driven nonprofit organization that has used golf as a platform to build capacity and give back to our nonprofit partners in San Diego since 1961. Our mission remains clear: to host a world-class PGA TOUR event that benefits San Diego and its youth.
