The Sentry drives impact on Maui with record-setting contribution from 2025 event
Over $747,000 gifted to local nonprofits, supporting key initiatives across West Maui
KAPALUA, MAUI, Hawai‘i – Tournament officials announced today that The Sentry will continue to drive impact on Maui with a record $747,704 contribution to local nonprofits as a result of its 2025 event.
The announcement was made during a reception at the Boys & Girls Club of Maui – Lahaina, where tournament officials, nonprofit representatives and volunteers were joined by Sentry Insurance Chief Marketing and Brand Officer and Chief Golf Partnership Officer, Stephanie Smith.
Since relocation to Maui in 1999, The Sentry has raised more than $9.7 million for local nonprofits. With the continued support of Sentry Insurance, the event has contributed to six key community organizations: Scouting America-Aloha Council, Hale Makua Health Services, J. Walter Cameron Center, Ka Lima O’ Maui, Lahainaluna High School Foundation and Lahaina Junior Golf.
We’re extremely proud to announce over $747,000 in community impact funds this year. This achievement is made possible through the continued support of our partners, fans and the Maui community. Their support allows us to invest in initiatives across West Maui as Lahaina continues down its path of rebuilding
- Max Novena, Executive Director of The Sentry
Adding to the impact across West Maui, The Sentry also supported the Boys & Girls Club Maui – Lahaina, which works to inspire and enable all young people to reach their full potential to become productive, responsible and caring citizens. The Club acts as a second home for Maui’s keiki by providing a safe and positive environment during after-school hours where youth can be themselves and participate in high quality programs.
“Since becoming title sponsor, we committed to supporting the Maui community and responding where help is needed most,” said Pete McPartland, Sentry Chairman and CEO. “Our connection to Maui is personal, and over the years, that’s led to meaningful relationships with local non-profits and community organizations. They’ve helped us understand where support is needed—and how we can make a lasting impact.”
Serving as the event’s title sponsor since 2018, Sentry Insurance also demonstrates its commitment to the community through its support of the “Aloha Friday” tournament tradition. During Aloha Friday, PGA TOUR players help raise funds and awareness for on-island charities, contributed by Sentry Insurance Foundation, by wearing Aloha print hats, shirts, pants or shoes.

Additional local nonprofits that benefitted from the tournament include Aloha Pu’u Kukui Watershed, Hawai’i State Junior Golf Association/First Tee of Hawai’i, Hua Momona Farms, Kapalua Maui Charities, Maui Junior Golf, University of Hawai’i-Maui College, Maui United Way and Maui Striker Soccer Club, among others.
The Sentry is proud to support local initiatives, and the success of these efforts would not be possible without the incredible support from fans, partners and the community. By attending the tournament and getting involved, fans help fuel these important programs, creating lasting opportunities for the Valley Isle’s communities.
