Kapalua, Maui, Hawaii – The Sentry Tournament of Champions will return to The Plantation Course at Kapalua in January as the opening event of the 2024 PGA TOUR Season. The TOUR’s annual stop on Maui welcomes TOUR winners from the previous calendar year and the top 50 players from the final FedExCup Playoffs and Eligibility Points List. With their recent victories, Kurt Kitayama, Nico Echavarria, Taylor Moore, Matt Wallace and Sam Burns are among the latest players to qualify for the 2024 Sentry Tournament of Champions, while Scottie Scheffler picked up his second win of the calendar year.

Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard

Kitayama defeated Rory McIlroy and Harris English at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard to earn his first PGA TOUR victory in his 50th career start. The 30-year-old became the first player since Robert Gamez in 1990 to win in his tournament debut. The win qualified the California native for his first trip to Maui and the Sentry Tournament of Champions.

Puerto Rico Open

In his Puerto Rico Open debut, Echavarria closed with a 4-under 68 to claim his first career TOUR title in his 11th career start and become the 10th player in Puerto Rico Open history (2008) to make the event his first career TOUR win. The Colombia native began the week on the heels of four consecutive missed cuts and with the victory he is now fully exempt through the 2024-25 season on TOUR. The win qualified the 28-year-old for his first appearance at the Sentry Tournament of Champions.

THE PLAYERS Championship

Scheffler, the reigning PGA TOUR Player of the Year, won THE PLAYERS Championship for his sixth career TOUR victory and second of the season. All six of the 26-year-old’s career wins have come in his last 28 starts. The Dallas resident returned to No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking with the victory and became the ninth player to win THE PLAYERS and the Masters Tournament in his career, and the third to hold both titles at the same time (Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods).

Valspar Championship

Moore played the final 11 holes bogey-free and 4-under par to post 4-under 67 at the Valspar Championship for his first career TOUR victory. The Texas native became the sixth player in tournament history and second in the last three years to make the Valspar Championship his first TOUR win (most recent: Sam Burns, 2021). The victory qualified the second-year TOUR member for his first trip to Maui and the Sentry Tournament of Champions.

World Golf Championships-Dell Technologies Match Play

Burns defeated Cameron Young in the Championship Match, 6 and 5, to win the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play. The 26-year-old earned his fifth TOUR title in his 121st career start and became the first player to win Dell Technologies Match Play in his debut appearance since Geoff Ogilvy in 2006. The Louisiana native has now won in three consecutive seasons on TOUR with five victories in his last 46 starts. The win qualified Burns for his third trip to The Plantation Course at Kapalua where he finished T19/2022 and 32/2023.

Corales Puntacana Championship

In his 80th career start, Wallace earned his first career TOUR title at the Corales Puntacana Championship defeating Nicolai Højgaard by one stroke. In his tournament debut, the Englishman set the 72-hole scoring record with a 19-under 269 to become the fourth first-time winner in tournament history and fourth on TOUR this calendar year (Echavarria, Kitayama, Moore). The 2024 Sentry Tournament of Champions will mark Wallace’s first appearance at The Plantation Course at Kapalua
