Sentry Tournament of Champions announces inaugural Ohana Day

Fans who donate 10 lbs. of food or more to the Maui Food Bank receive two free tickets to the tournament

Kapalua, Maui, Hawaii – The Sentry Tournament of Champions today announced that Wednesday, Jan. 1 is Ohana Day when the 2020 winners-only event returns to The Plantation Course at Kapalua from Jan. 1-5. Fans can enjoy a fun-filled day with family while supporting local Keiki and community charities.

Tickets can be purchased at SentryTournamentofChampions.com or fans can donate 10 pounds or more of food to the Maui Food Bank in exchange for a pair (2) of tickets to Ohana Day. Fans can begin dropping off food on Tuesday, Dec. 3 to the following locations:

The most needed items are canned meat and tuna, canned fruit and vegetables, canned meals and soups with protein, rice, cereal and pasta. The Maui Food Bank distributes over 2.5 million pounds of safe, nutritious food each year, including 600,000 pounds of fresh produce.

“The Sentry Tournament of Champions takes pride in its ability to support local organizations that help the island of Maui in such impactful ways,” said Alex Urban, executive director of the Sentry Tournament of Champions. “Through our partnership with the Maui Food Bank, we’ll help support their efforts to provide hunger relief to community members and spread awareness of food insecurity, while allowing fans to give back to the community that we play in.”

The Sentry Tournament of Champions is proud to host families of all ages during Ohana Day, especially since up to three Keiki, ages 18 and under, are admitted free of charge per one ticketed adult. Before families begin their day at the tournament, Keiki should stop by the No. 1 tee between 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. to sign-in and help their school district win a donation from Sentry Insurance.

While out on the course celebrating Ohana Day, fans should be on the lookout for local celebrity appearances featuring baseball legend Shane Victorino, the Wailuku Little League teams and more. Fans have the opportunity to Meet & Greet with Victorino and other surprise guests in the Autograph Area near the No. 1 tee. Families are encouraged to check social media for specifics on the meet and greet.

As a reminder to fans, general parking will be located at Mahana Estates this year which is just a five-minute shuttle ride to the course. General parking is available Wednesday, Jan. 1 through Sunday, Jan. 5 for $10 per day. Spectators will pay upon arrival to the general parking lot where both cash and credit card are accepted. Free tournament shuttles to The Plantation Course at Kapalua will drop off/pick up at the Main Entrance. The shuttle begins running one hour before gates open and will stop running 30 minutes after gates close.
