Brendan Steele

Second Appearance (Best Finish: 25th, 2012) Qualifying win: Safeway Open

American Brendan Steele started his 2016-17 PGA TOUR Season off on a high note, winning the first event of the season, the Safeway Open by one shot over Patton Kizzire on the strength of a Sunday 65. His Sunday heroics erased a four-shot deficit entering the final round and earned him his second PGA TOUR victory to go along with the 2011 Valero Texas Open.

Steele will be making his second start at the Sentry Tournament of Champions, looking to improve on his 25th place finish in the 2012 event.

With the exception of his sophomore season in 2012, Steele has advanced to the FedExCup Playoffs every year on the PGA TOUR, a mark of consistency against the best players in the world.

Steeleā€™s win at the Safeway Open was especially satisfying given that a year earlier at the same event he held the 54-hole lead before struggling to a back-nine 40. This year, he closed the door with his sizzling 65.

"You don't often get that chance in life to really redeem yourself in the same way at the same place, and to basically do just the opposite," Steele said.
