JAMES HAHN

Second Appearance (Best Finish: T31, 2016) Qualifying win: Wells Fargo Championship

James Hahn is making a return trip to the Sentry Tournament of Champions after adding a second PGA TOUR victory to his resume. It was a roller coaster season for Hahn, who at one point missed eight consecutive cuts before finding his game in Charlotte at the Wells Fargo Championship.

Hahn found himself in the penultimate group on Sunday at Quail Hollow Club paired with Justin Rose and trailing leader Rickie Fowler by two strokes. Hahn’s 2-under 70 against Fowler’s 2-over-74 was enough to pit Hahn and Roberto Castro against each other in a sudden-death playoff. On the first extra hole at the difficult par-4 18th, Hahn’s par proved good enough for his second career PGA TOUR win.

Hahn previously won the 2015 Genesis Open, also via sudden death.

“I constantly remind myself that I'm good enough that I belong out here,” Hahn said on the subject of his streak of missed cuts. “Was kind of chanting to myself that I can do this, I will do this and I must do this. I mean, this is something that I look in my daughter's eyes and say, hey, I can't give up on you, I have to do this. So having family like that, my wife supporting me, it really gives me that extra fire to keep going.”
