Branden Grace

First Appearance Qualifying win: RBC Heritage

After having already compiled a decorated career on the European Tour that has yielded seven victories, South Africa’s Branden Grace found the winner’s circle for the first time in 51 starts on the PGA TOUR at the RBC Heritage. The win on Hilton Head Island, S.C., propelled him to an impressive summer that included top-5 finishes in the U.S. Open and the PGA Championship. Grace also added a T10 showing at the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational.

After grabbing a share of the lead after the first round, a Friday 74 dropped Grace into a tie for 21st and seemingly out of the title hunt. But with weekend scores of 69-66 at a difficult Harbour Town Golf Links, the 27-year-old was able to grind his way to a two-stroke victory over Luke Donald and Russell Knox.

“I've been playing well. I've missed a couple of cuts, but I've been playing great. Just the putter hasn't been there,” Grace said of his performance prior to the RBC Heritage. “But a week like this it's all about grinding. There's some courses that suit your eye. And I'm glad to pull it off this week.”
